Sean "Diddy" Combs' Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony will take place this Friday. The music mogul-turned-hollywood actor will be honored for his many years of contributions to the entertainment industry.
Beginning with his acting debut in the film "Made," Combs went on to receive critical acclaim for his supporting role in "Monster's Ball," opposite Halle Berry, and made a successful Broadway debut starring in the lead role of Walter Lee, Jr., in the classic Lorraine Hansberry play, "A Raisin in the Sun," which garnered four Tony Award nominations, including Best Revival of a Play.
In addition, Combs stars in and executive produced the highly anticipated, special three-hour television movie adaptation from Sony Pictures Television of "A Raisin in the Sun." The cast of the revival recreate their roles for the film, including Emmy and Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad, four-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, Tony Award nominee Sanaa Lathan, and "ER" star John Stamos. The movie aired as an "ABC World Premiere Movie Event," on February 25 and will be available on dvd Wednesday, May 14th.
Diddy is reportedly spending $4 million on a party in celebration of his star. He enlisted the help of soccer pro David Beckham to plan the bash, which will include 10 private jets to transports guests to the party's Beverly Hills mansion location, according to UK paper The Mirror.
"It's a huge honor for P Diddy to be recognized in Hollywood. He came from Harlem and on Friday the creme de la creme of Hollywood will salute him," a friend of Diddy's reportedly said.
As for Diddy himself: "You can get a lot of things but when you see those stars on the ground... well that's something I can't even say I dreamed of," he said.
The ceremony will take place at 6801 Hollywood Blvd (Closer to Highland) at 11 a.m.
